Silver medal in 26. Trierenberg Super Circuit

hooray…we won a competition!
I knew it was a good idea to climb into that sink on our tour of the abandoned hospital.

Wohooo… ! For the second year in a row one of my images was awarded a medal in Trierenberg Super Circuit in Austria, this time a silver medal! This is said to be “The world’s largest photo salon. It is by far the largest annual salon of photography on the globe.” Among the more than 100 000 images submitted, my image was among the few selected for a medal!

This 15-second video by Simon Smith is for a competition called #MyUnseenCity for people who ride these fold-up bicycles called Bromptons to show a lesser seen side of the city they live in.

In this project I was a cinematography assistant and an actor. You’ll see.

‘In the Air’ Photo Challenge

So, I just heard from Thornback that one of his images in which I feature won ‘GURU’S TOP PICK AWARD’ in the ‘In the Air’ Photo Challenge on gurushots.com.

Thornback creates wonderfully northerly, billowing, wide-open fantasy landscapes inspired by nature, Northern European folklore and his wild imagination.

It was a privilege for me to participate in the making of some of these images one chilly morning down on the bleak grey Somerset sand in September 2014. The shoot was planned and executed with military precision. I won’t share the secret of how I managed to hover above the water but it didn’t involve hiring my stunt double.

it’s judgment day

The entries are in, and I’m on the jury! The NUDE 2015 PhotoShoot Awards competition is underway. I’ve been looking forward to this day for weeks. Many of the images are excellent. I am one happy bunny. Making decisions about pictures gives my brain a high that beats tea, coffee and even rapid-fire solitary word games. Not that I mean to imply that I’m making decisions about these images in a rapid-fire way, I must add. I’m using both sides of my brain (metaphorically, perhaps), one at a time, at a combination of different speeds.

Jury – PhotoShoot Awards

Due to my exquisitely fine tastes in art, I’m on the jury for the NUDE 2015 Photoshoot Awards. There are two months left to participate! (You have to pay though.) It’s a somewhat prestigious award and a good way to get your work noticed.

From the website:

Our NUDE 2015 jury is composed of international artists and professionals who have acquired a taste for creative images and photography. Their common vision will identify the best artistic photographs representing our criteria for this contest: emotion, beauty and freedom.

Rebecca Tun: Art Model, Germany

Rebecca is a freelance art model from the UK. She is currently based in Berlin and spends her time there organizing tours of Europe: “I’m going from place to place modeling for different photographers on a wide range of art projects in a lot of exotic locations. I’m obsessed with making pictures and I’m addicted to looking at them. I’m deeply motivated by imagination and creativity, but also very technical in my approach. My days revolve around images. In my spare time I take photographs and I make collages”. When she finishes modeling, Rebecca would like to stay in the world of images by becoming an editor or a curator.
